The serial number on original wood is located under the fore end iron. Only way I know to be sure. As a caveat I have only examined splinter fore ends not beavertails. Maybe others have seen the sn on a beaver tail forend.

The stamped serial number on ejector guns is under the forend iron. I have also seen it stamped there on later extractor guns.

Google can find the gun but when you go there it is same as OP link. Suggests to me it has been sold and removed from the website. [IMG][/IMG]

FWIW it lacks the double ivory beads. Ask for a picture of the barrel flats and the forend lug for starters.
