Is auction number 267146390 a D or G ? I think the rib has Vulcan Steel on it.

$30,000. I wonder what a 16 gauge GHE is worth with Parker Special Steel barrels? How about those wild and crazy Michigan dealers?

It could not be a 1917 gun, could it?

Great Lakes Sporting Arms is a neat shop. Northwest of Detroit, near the Detroit Gun Club. Specializes in target shotguns. (Bought my Krieghoff there) I've always found Kurt easy to deal with. He does a good job of photography, and has a cool magnification feature on his website to examine specific areas of the gun.

It is a G grade and when I get a chance I will take a look at it. The case colors do not look right to me look at the one shot of the side of the receiver and see a couple of black stripes.... and then look at the floorplate and they match up..... that doesn't happen as far as I know. Maybe I am wrong.

You're right Cal, 1917 would be in the 179xxx range. Neither the wood nor the engraving is consistent with any D I've seen. Looks like G checkering and engraving.

If it's a resotration or an upgrade the work is SPECTACULAR! Great attention to fit and finish you seldom see from the best shops.

Certainly not a D, it is a G grade receiver and it looks to me to have Vulcan barrels and a V or P grade stock given the checkering and shield.

The Serialization Book says the serial number should be a V grade, capped p/g, 28" bbls 16ga with ejectors. No mention of BTFE or SST. This is in the Remington era and odd things did happen then, I don't think it's even close to a 30K gun but as far as it's configuration, never say never.
