Charlie my first parker was my 3 frame 12. When I bought it I knew so little about parkers I just assumed that all guns this old weighed this much and had 34'' barrels. My barrels weigh 5lbs 6 oz gun 9.5. I did know that a Parker was very high quality and rare on this side of the country. I have since learned that a 3 frame 12 gauge VHE with 34'' is hard to come by.

Charlie, a friend has a #3 frame 12 gauge gun that was ordered at ten pounds. I don't know what it actually weighs. Yours is about as heavy as they come. It also seems to be one of the last 12 gauge twist steel guns made by Parker Brothers. My #3 frame 12 and my #3 frame 16 are not nearly as heavy as yours.

Eldon I missed a gun just like yours from a Chicago dealer years ago. I still regret it.....

Hello Charlie , I have a recently purchased ,1889, DH 10 Ga., 32" Barrels The Barrels are stamped 5.8 She was sent back to The Brothers P in 1895 to tighten action ,clean and " reblue" barrels ,and then again in 1913 to be fit with a set of 12 Ga., Damascus Barrels ,30 " in length and they weigh 5. 8 Oz. ! The interesting part are the instructions , the 10 Ga. ,Must shoot 4 close ,and it patterned 80 pellets ina 24" circle at 45 Yards ,and then the 12 Ga. instructions were Shoot Close 7 1/2 ! The gun weighed 9 Lb. Even with both sets of barrels !
