Default Retro-fit Vent Rib

In another thread Dean posted some pics of a fairly late Remington era CHE. The pics show a frame profiled for a regular Parker concave rib --

but it has a vent rib with a concave ramp. There is a B??3 repair code on the barrel flats.

I noticed that too Dave. It looks like a factory rib and not that of an aftermarket manufacturer, what's your opinion on that possibility?

I think it is a Parker rib, just that the gun wasn't originally built with it.

I have seen examples of factory Vent ribs that were added later on to a gun that did not have one new. Other than the odd transition from the concave extension up to the flat rib, all else will look as you would expect. Much like the photo shown above.
