Default damascus cleaning old brown barrels

I have been trying to clean heavy brown build up off 100 year old Damascus barrels with out removing the remaining Damascus pattern with out much success the last few years. I found something that works great. its very simple and easy. buy some extra fine synthetic wool from brownells and some birchwood casy stock sheen & conditioner and with a little polishing the barrels will brighten write up. do it as much as you like if there is still Damascus under the crud it will still be there when your done. I cant belive something so simple and cheep works so well. try it on the worst barrels you got, you will be happy
