Default Simple stock refresh

I was cleaning my SC today and I noticed the cheek side of the stock was somewhat dull. Probably due to sweat. Since it’s an oil finished stock, it will be easy to bring the finish back. I put a few drops of TruOil on the stock, rub it in and then polish it off with a clean T shirt. I usually do two or three iterations and then gently rub the stock down with Casey’s stock polisher and conditioner to remove some of the sheen.

This method is great for guns that have been out in the rain also. My .270 and DHE duck gun took a beating this year with the rain but the finishes are now back to where they should be.

I don't hesitate to use my best hunting guns in the rain. I don't own any rainy day guns.
