I am referring to the starting coats that penetrate, seal and fill the wood. Before finish coats are applied. The thin sealer is mixed with a colorant and allowed to penetrate for several coats. The same tinted sealer is wet sanded to fill the pores. A little bit of staining had to be used in the upper section to even out the color of some sap wood.

The late Jack Haugh refinished mine and he told me the wood used was difficult to stain because of the density. (I ask him to darken mine because it was so light) Your work has a considerable amount of depth - very nice.

That is next. The engraving will be fully embellished to make the whole gun look hand cut (because it will be) and then a proper CCH job will finish it off.

Who will do the case coloring and engraving? Or, do you do all that work yourself?

Gournet will embellish the engraving and turnbull will color it.
