Josh, thank you for posting this. Is there any information yet on memorial services?

It is indeed sad news for me, Daryl was a good friend and we wintered in Florida together several years ago, We usually went to the Southern together. I called him several weeks ago and he told me the bad news, I had been calling and talking to him every couple weeks since then. I never new it would happen this quick. Daryl loved his big bore Parkers and airplanes, Guys you never know, live life to the fullest every single day. Daryl I will have a gin and tonic just for you tonight, RIP my good friend, Gary

A day I will not soon forget was when I met both Daryl and Gary at a Vintagers about 7 years ago. A genuine pair of Gentlemen. The sun sets earlier as we get deeper into Autumn.

I didn't know Daryl, but can appreciate the loss of such a universally loved and respected member of our community.
I was at the Beinfelds show Saturday, and visited with one of our older members. He said that it seems like we're losing about 25% of the old guard every year.
Let's not take anyone, or anything for granted.

Daryl was a wonderful man and a great supporter of the PGCA. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

That is indeed sad news. My only dealings with Daryl was that I sent him a gorgeous Alaskan black wolf hide.

Gentlemen, I spoke with Daryl's wife Pat this morning. Daryl did not want a service of any kind, He is to be cremated and his ashes spread over the airport at Penn Yann a place that meant so much to him. Friends may call between 1-4 PM Sunday January 28th at Weldon Funeral Home in Penn Yann. HIs obituary may be viewed at Finger Lakes Times Geneva N.Y.

I assume that somehow Penn Yan is also related to the small boat business?

Penn Yan Aero was Dary's airplane engine rebuilding shop and about as good as there ever has been. Very well known place that he had, I think, turned over to his family to run when he retired. Had I needed an engine I would have gotten one from them as he made me an incredible offer.
