Default Just saying Hello

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to take a few moments and introuduce myself to the group here.

I have watched this site for a while now both on the old site and now the new one. I really appreciate the information and knowledge of all things Parker that reside with the members here.

Now for a little bit about me.
I'm an avid upland bird hunter that chases all forms of prarie birds inculding Pheasants primarily in the Dakota's, Montana, Colorado, Kansas, & Nebraska. My passions for this includes having a nice classic American SXS in my hands when I'm following my three French Brittanys or my fox red lab.

The last few years my main focus on guns has been with collecting and learning about A.H.Fox shotguns & Parker repro's. But here lately I've been bit hard by the Parker bug and thats the reason why I'm over here now. I've recently had the good fortune to have found my way to being the current caretaker of a couple of GH Damascus Parkers in 12ga & 16ga.

I have a boatload of questions that I would like to post in the future. So I ask for your patience with me while I start posting some of them over on the discussion forum.

It's great to be here and I'm looking forward to getting to know the members here!

Paul

Wellcome Paul. We here like to look at pictures. I would really like to see one of your fox red lab. I have a young one that I have started this year.

Ben, I would love to post a picture of my dog. Photobucket has changed their site around and I can't get an IMG code to copy so I can post it here. As soon as I figure out the new system I'll post some photos.

Thank you Paul. A very nice looking lab. Mine is about the same shade, with some lighters flex thrown in.
What state were the pics taken it?

The top two pictures were in SW North Dakota last month. Sage would be 20 months old in that picture.

The bottom one with the Gambels was last December on the San Carlos reservation outside of Globe,Az. In that picture Sage was only ten months old and already starting to show the makings of a good hunting partner.

The gun is a GH-12 damascus 28" Factory Cyl / Full on a 1 frame 6lb 12oz 1909 vintage. That top picture is one of it's centennial birthyear limits.

Paul, I notice in those pictures of your little retriever, that he/she is imitating the posture and figure of a bird dog. Let me know how you do that. I have had bird dogs and Springers since 1948 and would have a retriever if I could learn your secret. Great pictures and great guns.

Bill,
What can I say, maybe it's because I trained him the way I have my Springers I've over the years. I use Hup for his sit command and that might have him thinking he's a spaniel.

Here's another picture of him with a little snow on the ground. He produced & retrieved these birds in about a fortyfive minute hunt with me a buddy. We didn't make it quite to the tree row in the background and we were finished for the day.
