Garry,
I am very sorry about the loss of your dog, I am glad you were there with him. I hope your other dog recovers quickly too. You have been very kind to me in here, I have realized over the years (our oldest dog is 12 years old now) just how special our pets are for pet owners. My wife and I have a stronger marriage because of our pets. I wish you and your family all the best. Sincerely, Ed

Sad to loose an old friend they take a bit of us with them and we feel diminished. From pup to mature even beyond gray muzzled and aged they try to show us everyday it’s all going to be alright. A dog’s faith is unshakable.

Gary
I think you did just right having Peat there with you.

Thanks, Ed. I know from your posts that you and your wife are devoted to your dogs. I think, like you, that dogs make us better. I appreciate your kind words.

Brett, thanks for this note. I often think how much better the world would be if we all had the faith, loyalty and good nature of dogs.

There was a gentleman at the cabins that we've come to know over the years. When he saw us with our two sick dogs (I was carrying Peat from the truck to the Cabin), he mentioned how he would have left a sick dog of his boarded with his vet. I just cannot imagine not being with a dog in his last days...one that had given so much to me.

Garry, I sorry for your loss too and I am going through the same thing, my one setter is 15 and the other that I retired this season is 14, it's tough at this point when you see your companion of so many year start to fail.

Eric, How sad to have two beloved dogs near their life's end at the same time. I hope your situation works to whatever best resolution there can be for a gun dog and his hunter. My thoughts are with you.

Garry,

Thanks for posting on your MN hunt. It's nice to see different hunting avenues. Very sorry to hear about Peat. Hopefully, Cedar will recover. Good luck on all your hunts this year.
