Default "ITS THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR"

For Mosby and me. Second dove season. No Black Friday sales for us. Freezing cold at daybreak. Big male doves aplenty. The 20 Trojan choked Skeet and Modified worked well on them. Thirty in two days. Resting on Sunday. A lot of dogs don't like feathers in their mouths. Not Mosby!

I wound up going duck hunting in the morning and deer hunting in the afternoon. I didn't set out to buy anything, but bought some Rio Bismuth at the Outpost in Ridgeland and some tools online.

Charlie,

I thought Mississippi doves flew north to cool off? It used to be we had thousands of doves the first weeks of September. Farming has changed and now no one cuts silage. So our best dove season is in November for a ten day season then December at Christmas for a twenty-four day season. When it is cold the birds (all males) are here in abundance after they shell the corn. It was not like that in my younger days. It is more fun to go out at daybreak and shoot two boxes of shells than to sit in a deer stand after the rut rubbing a rabbit's foot.

Our second season runs from Dec 26-Jan 9. I hope I can find some fields or a decent hog or cattle feed lot.
