This thread has morphed into something weird and is getting weirder and weirder by the post. A couple of posters (and I'm not talking about Mike) that claim to be owners of Parker Reproductions apparently are having a little trouble knowing what they actually have.

Yes, I know that it has been reported that the firing pin separation of a Parker Reproduction .410 0000-frame and a Parker Bros. .410 000-frame are both the same at 13/16", but the frames do indeed look different...at least to my eyes, and I've got the pics that show these differences.

Until an owner of a real and actual .410 0000-frame Parker Reproduction comes forward and posts actual dimensions of their gun's frame dimensions, this thread will continue with misinformation and being weird.

I have measured both 0000 frame .410s and original 000 frame .410s and both have the same pin separation (as I recall). Yes, the Repro .410 0000 frame looks different, and it is different, but the pin separation is identical (as I recall). It shouldn't be too difficult to find a Repro .410 to measure. Sorry, I don't own one.

Bill, no worries. I have not seen a Repro .410 as a single gun, only the 28-.410 combos.
Nor have I seen any the .410 barrels that were for sale.
From a cost perspective, It would seem reasonable that a stand-alone Repro .410 would be on a 00-frame 28ga frame as in the combos.

Further, Tom Skeuse's son related to me that he believed there were only 9 Repro 28-.410 combos produced. I know of 2 sets, mine with double trigggers and my friend's
combo with a single trigger; both .410's are marked 0000.

Mike, stand alone .410 Repros were mostly all BHE 0000 frames. They were not made on 00 28 gauge frames. A very very few .410 stand alone guns were made on 00 frames.

Geez Bill, if there were a "very very few .410 stand alone guns made on 00 frames" you could expand your search to include stand alone .410 00-frame guns from the very very few you say were made. You could double your chances and double your fun in finding one just by looking! Please post up a pic when you locate one!

I've had an interest in the .410 00-frame frame Repros since back in the dark ages. I have inquired on more than one occasion trying to learn of just one of the very very few that might have been built. So far, none have surfaced. Here's one of those inquiries:

RE:firing pin separation on 28-.410 Repro combo with 0000 marked .410 and F marked 28 ga barrels

.410 0000 pin separation 15/16"
28 ga 00 marked F pin separation 15/16" i.e. the 00-frame pin separation

Since the distance across the bolsters of the 00-frame is wider on the 28 ga, the .410
barrels 0000 frame has to be wider, wider spaced barrels, wider rib and barrels do not touch at the terminal end. As a result, the .410 0000 barrels are in fact heavier than the
Repro 28 ga barrels as I reported earlier.

Further, I tried fitting both aforementioned Repro barrels to an original 28 ga 000 VHE and neither fit the original VHE frame, not surprising. However, the bolster width and pin spacing is the same. Fitting was a lug issue.

Personally, I find it hard to believe, due to the financial difficulties affecting the manufacturing the of the Repros late in production, that there ever were 000-frame Repro .410 barrels produced with 13/16" pin spacing and 1 3/4" bolster spacing as the originals. And, I would spectulate that stand alone Repro .410's are all 0000 marked
and fitted on the 28 Repro frames that are actually 00-frame sized. Further still, these stand alone .410's would be and are actually heavier than the Repro 28 ga and original 28 ga 00-frame guns for the reasons sited above; not so with the original 000-frame
.410's.

When someone comes forward with a 000-frame .410 Repro like the original, Iwill stand corrected.

If I follow Mike's post, I think he is saying, and I agree that regardless of identical pin spacing, a true 0000 .410 barrel set has other dimensions that prevent its fitting properly to an original 000 .410 receiver. Anyone who has seen and handled a 0000 Repro can see that the frame is way smaller than an original Parker .410 receiver.

The January/February 2019 issue of Shooting Sportsman has an article by David Trevallion called The Parker Reproduction Story. In that article he lists that there were 11 410 Dhe's, 9 BHE 410's and 16 28/410 combinations built as A-1 Specials, if I am reading his chart correctly. The chart says all 28 gauges were built on 00 frames but there is no mention of the 410's. This info came from Chapter VI "Parker Revivals" of The Parker Story but it also mentions the loss of the Parker Reproduction records in the 1999 hurricane and this information is credited to the memory of Tom Skeuse, son of Jack.

Dave Trevallion consulted a great deal with Tom in compiling data and information for this article and the one previously published in Shooting Sportsman written by Dave.
