David, I live in Maggie Valley, NC about 30 minutes west of Asheville, and 1 1/2 hours from Johnson City. I have grouse hunted in most western NC counties within 125 miles of here, I never have hunted in TN. Tell the boys to come see me and I will expect you too. It's good country, Asheville is considered the most diverse (liberal) city in the east (at least by some of us).

Michigan and Minnesota for Grouse and Woodcock.
North and South Dakota for Pheasant. Kansas and Arizona for Quail. Oops. That's my Setter's schedule for this hunting season. I unfortunately have to pay for her fun so work will prevent me from joining her in Minnesota, South Dakota, Kansas and Arizona. Have had a couple of productive weekends in Michigan so far. Good resident numbers of both woodcock and grouse. Might have been lower peninsula. Might have been the Upper. I am not telling... |
