Default Parker Repro Case and Cover - Question

I just bought a Parker Repro Case, and the handle is offset 2" from center line.
I looked on GI,GB, and GA - some handles were offset and some were centered. Does anyone have any insight into this? BTW, I have a WTB listed for a Case Cover. Thanx, Billy

Placement of the handle relates to the balance point of the case with the gun. 1, 2 and 3 barrel cases would have different balance points and handle placement.

I believe they are made that way to balance the load with shotgun, barrels and other paraphernalia on board...perhaps different guns balance differently when cased...just my take on it.

Oops...Bob beat me by a minute...

What is odd is that the heavy end (butt) is to the right and the handle is off set to the left.

Bill,
The receiver and breach end of the barrels and forend are to the left balancing the wood stock to right.

If you try to buy a cover, make sure it matches the case. I have a cover that doesn't seem to fit any Repro case I have ever had, and I've had a few. So I have never tried to sell it without fitting to the case.

Bill - My actual case dimensions are: 3 3/4 x 7 1/2 x 30 1/4. The handle is offset 2" left of center line. Are you interested is selling the one you have. Are the dimensions close? I am in Northern VA, are you within driving distance. If we want to try it, I will cover shipping both ways. Thanx, Billy Gross billy.gross@comcast.net.
