Default Grayson Getting it Done on Pheasants

I am finally getting him on birds, albeit released pheasants. It has been such a learning experience for him and he has developed more in three hunts this fall than he has in the last three years. We are still working on retrieving, but he is doing very well finding and pointing birds, and holding to the shot. He excels on finding dead/downed birds. I am looking forward to heading north with him into the Adirondacks for grouse and woodcock. Hopefully we'll find some birds and he will handle them as well.

He’ll do well on grouse and woodcock are so easy for a good dog to hold he won’t have a bit of a problem with them.
Pheasants are a lot harder on a young or inexperienced dog because of their propensity to run.
