For those of us that witnessed, participated in, this unfortunate exchange,I want to apologize for sticking my nose in.

It is exactly this type of exchange that drove me to the refuge of the Parker site.

I was entertained. A fun read over coffee.

It doesn't compare with the time [a well known gun forum kook] went on the old Lefever forum and insisted his porch-whittled Ithaca Nitro Special was in fact a "$1,000 Grade Syracuse Lefever," however. As I recall, the story included engraving by at least two famous engravers, one of whom was dead by the time the gun was made, and the other never worked for Lefever. There was also some classic "old family legend" that went along with it. All good fun! He made 8 furious posts and then never returned.

Delusion can be a powerful opiate.

Ah yes, I believe they were referred to as "the real chrome breech" guns. So rare that even the guys on the LCSCA forum had to be "schooled" about them.

He got going about his close friendship with George Bird Evans on a bird dog board So much BS he drove the Old Hemlock guys on the board apoplectic

Always figured he just had a need for attention no matter how he got it

He asked for description of my truck and the plate so he could watch for it and hunt with me.

What "Bird Dog Forum" did Dave use to promote his friendship with George Bird Evans?
