Default Removing Stock Wax

My Charles Hellis has an oil finish that I sealed with Renaissance wax. This combo did not stand up to the moisture while duck hunting and I wish to put hard finish on the stock...one that can stand up to multiple chessie "showers". No hand rubbed oil finish (4 different English stocks) has stood up to the amount of moisture that occurs while duck hunting.

Not wanting to remove the oil finish, just the wax, I was wondering if someone had experience with a substance that wood work.

Thank you for any help.
