Default Pinfire 16ga

Well I finished loading and test firing my first pin fire shells today. They are really a pain to reload. Thought I would post a couple of pictures.

I read that a couple years ago. Didn't go that rout because it was to expensive. Using the plastic hulls is cheap But not easy. I have a combination pin fire on the way. It is a 20ga by 577 I think. I will find out when it gets here. It has to make it through the blizzard up north.

That sounds like a fun gun Wayne. Is it 577 snider or nitro ?
I've seen a few pinfire 10 bores but 16 GA is more common . I haven't looked at them in years but aren't they usually priced lower than conventional cartridge guns ?

I meant is the 577 chambering closer to a snider or a nitro case wise

Milton the price of pin fires is rising in a hurry. Their are getting expensive. There are people hunting with them and shooting clays with them. They are driving the prices up. I believe the cartridge in the combination gun that you are referring to is a short version of the 577 snider. Will know when it comes in. If your are thinking about a pin fire make sure it is in a standard shotgun gauge (not 14ga). Guns will have to be slightly modified to shoot paper or plastic hulls.

Probable not. I am however thinking about turkey hunting this year. A friend offered to take me to one of his spots if I used an 8ga. I may try to shoot some clays with the pin fire. Are you looking an 8ga wright now.
