Default Parker Forend

I have acquired what I think is a Parker Forend ( both wood and metal). It has a Parker serial No.182976. It appears to be either a 16 or 20 ga. forend.
I have compared it to my DH 12 ga. forend and it is smaller. If anyone has the rest of the gun they can contact me.

Richard, The serial number 182976 is not in the "Book" can you determine the grade by the checkering pattern and the engraving ? Dean

Default Parker Forend

Dean
I used the Parker Gun Collectors web site to check on the serial number, and it returned with a set of numbers and dates. Unless the site is set just to give a range of numbers and dates, I would assume that if the number was not listed it wouldn't reply.
As for a discription; It is a non-ejector forend, with hardware similar to my DH forend. Checkering is similar to my DH also. The forend release is marked PATD MAR 26 1876. All of the metal work has light scroll engraving, and the under side of the forend iron has strong case colors. The serial numbers are similar to the style and size of number as my DH.
As to possible gauge, I would guess either a small frame 16, or 20.
The condition of the wood is dark ( it has a lot of hand grime in the finish and would clean up using Murphy's oil soap and a non abrasive cloth)
Is there anything else you would like to ask?
Rick

No Rick, was just curious is all. I don't own the gun your forend fits and your chances of getting that forend back together with Parker No. 182976 are very slim indeed but I wish you luck. Yours is a noble endeavor. I've tried with a lot of Parker parts have but with zero luck. Let us know if you'll eventually sell it to someone who simply needs a small frame DH forend.
Regards, Dean
