Francis: Thank you !
It is a DH, the serial number said it was made in 1912. Titanic steel, Merridan ohio.
I took it to anothe dealer and he said it was about 60%, even with the recoil pad. It shoots. Both dealers were not any of the big boys you mentioned, but private gun shops.
What can I use to clean it up with, both the wood and metal. I want to part with it, but I don't want to take a beating ? What is a good gun auction to use, I am a hunter not a gun guy ? If anybody wants to see it and lives in western Pa, I'd gladly show it if somebody wants to meet up. I need some help here, I appreciate everybody's responses and help already.

Might be worth $3000 low to $7500 for someone who does not have one.
I would be surprised if someone has not already made an offer. If you show pictures you will have a lot of real advice.

Don't do anything to it or you will turn it into a $400 gun

No but you pretty much already have. Read the forum rules.

As for photos - go to Photobucket.com, upload them then copy and post the links to the photos using the insert image button right above the box in which you type a message.

I apologize, I did not read the rules on this forum and did not realize that guns were not allowed to be posted here for sale and that was not my intention. I was just trying to gain some information on it, in case I wanted to sell it.

A wise man once told me that sellers make their money when they buy a gun, not when they sell it. This dealer clearly expected to make a healthy profit.

Yup. Worth several times the offer. Very nice gun, even with the non original recoil pad.
