I don't want to hijack your thread with my lack of prowess.
Thanks for asking. I did get one. Shot on the wing with a Parker, the Governor's DHE20 and RST 2.5 inch 71/2 loads. Not shot in a tree or on the ground. I didn't take many shots because the leaves are all still on the trees and green to boot. Charlie Purple had fun and got lots of practice finding and retrieving my bird and some other donated carcasses. |

So let's run the numbers: Food & lodging…….2345.00 Gas…………….590.00 Non-Resident license…..140.00 New hunting garb and GPS at Cabela’s……265.00 Dog Food…………92.00 Damage to hotel desk a.k.a. Charlie Purple’s chew toy…..200.00 2 Flats RST ammo……170.00 Opportunity cost to Firm (lost billable hours)…..9700.00 Spa day and outlet shopping spree for the Mrs. (i.e., grouse hunter's penance)....1100.00 De-foliation of the Maine woodlands.......275.00 One grouse that looked like hamburger and tasted like pine nuts…$14,877
