Are you thinking of inviting her to join us. Why not, I brought Julia.

That wax likeness of Pelosi survived the fire in Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum with only a little bit of slide from melting wax... In fact, it is better than her real-life face...

Wall Drug!... Isn't that the place advertised on roadside signs nearly 1,000 miles North, South, East, and West of the place and when you arrive you say to yourself "All that fuss for this?"

They do a lot of advertising and when you get there you wonder why. My wife liked seeing it. It's kinda out there in SD.

However, as a kid my parents would drive us from FL to PA to visit relatives. South of the Border in SC/NC was the attraction like Wall's Drug.

What about "See Rock City" painted on barn roofs on all Alabama and Georgia roads leading to Chattanooga? Not to mention Burma Shave, of course.

Nice post! I've been to Beaver and hunted in the sand burrs and brush. My Gordon pointed a porky with feet that looked like they should have been on a bear, and it was nearly that size. I assume you've paid homage to the cow pie eating Big Beaver float tucked away in a side street, yes?
