Default Hammer on a # 1 frame?

I"m still a neophyte on the Parker hammer guns, the question I have is there such a thing as a # 1 Frame in the Hammer gun and is it desirable if in good condition? thanks much, Jerry

Mr. Andrews,

there most certainly is a #1 frame for hammer guns also some #0 frames as well. I am not sure how to determine desirerability based upon frame size. Its a personal choice I guess. It always comes down to condition (barrel walls thickness, bore condition, configuration, etc just like for any Parker hammer or hammerless).
Hope you found something you like and meets your needs.

Happy Holidays,
John

Jerry - I have a 12 gauge D2 on a #1 frame. I like it better than my #2 frame because it feels more lively in the hands. With appropriate loads they are excellent shooters.

Default Hammer Gun on 1 Frame

Twelve gauge top action exposed hammer guns seem to be most prevalaent on the 1 frame;

Here are some examples;

26145 30 inch 7 lb 10

31747 30 inch 8 lb 1

46347 30 inch 7 lb 14

69017 30 inch 8 lb 1

I have a large 12 ga top action exposed hammer Parker on a 2 frame

159157 32 inch 8 lb 7

I shoot 69017 quite regularly at skeet and 5 stand. The weight is between the hands and it is quite nimble and enjoyable to shoot.

Best, Austin

Austin - Is #69017 the gun with the monte carlo addition to the stock? Great gun.

I sold a rather nice 12g #1 frame D3 30" shooter at the Vintagers for $2500. They are around...

Default 69017

Ed ; 69017 is a nicely clean original gun, with some erosion in the throat that I cover with two short (12inch) Briley 20 ga tubes. It is a real joy at skeet and 5 stand. The monte carlo gun has VH barrels fitted, and I didn't think it would be representative for weight.

With respect to Jerry's search, I think he has a good chance of finding a 0ne frame twelve in the 30 - 70,000 s/n range.

Best, Austin

I have one, just wondered about the gun. I just haven't been into the Parker hammer guns, but they sure are nifty little creatures! Jerry
