Geese and doves come in Monday. In the past it was easy to choose since for the month of September one could not hunt doves until after 12 p.m. So it was always geese in the morning and doves in the afternoon. Now opening day is after 12 p.m. but then it starts at daybreak for doves after that. So would I rather shoot for 15 doves or 10 geese?

You can't be in possession of lead when goose hunting, so that eliminates shooting both at the same time unless you use steel on doves, and I may try that so when I hear a flock coming I just take the small sized steel out and put in Hevi-metal. But that means no Parkers or Foxes with me. Has anyone shot doves with steel?

SC dove season opens Monday. No birds around, so looks like we won't make it out.

Most farmers planted corn for the first time in a decade due to declining soybean prices. Went scouting early this morning. Geese were in the field already. Things are looking up and so will I on Monday!

NO dove hunting in New England...seems some states classify them as songbirds and not upland or migratory (which state DNR's could regulate)
