Default WHAT ARE THEY THINKING???

In the category of "what are they thinking?!!!", I emailed this reputable GB seller and pointed out that selling a Damascus gun with 12 thousandths barrel wall thickness was essentially like selling a shoulder mounted pipe bomb. Their response was that they aren't worried because their policy is that all used guns need to be inspected by the buyer's gunsmith before firing. Wow! And the item description strongly implies that it is all original and never messed with....riiiiight. That's really taking the concept of "Buyer Beware" to a whole new level.

That is all fine and good.....except as far as I can see there is no such admonishment in their ad about having the gun inspected by a competent gunsmith.

The barrels are 3 Iron "British Best"

And a lovely "mirror bore" - how do ya' think that happened in a > 130 year old gun?

A "mirror bore with light pitting " means it WAS a dusky bore with heavy pitting.

I like how they rate the browning at 44%...trending toward a lovely, frosted-blue patina in light

You have to WATCH OUT for this sellers (Commonwealth Arsenal) return policy too!

If you return the gun, a refund is based on IF they resell the gun or not. And you getting ALL of your money back is based on IF they can sell the gun for the same amount or more. If not, your refund is based on the resell price.

They do always post a LOT of pictures, so cosmetic condition usually cannot be in question. BUT... barrel condition and bores can be another story...

Strange dealer, not far from my home, but not somewhere that I visit. Some of their Parkers are questionable.

I had a couple questions about a Parker O frame they had a couple years ago. SN stated 28" barrels. They said the barrels had been "shortened" but would not give me the measurement. I asked again..and they banned me from bidding. Just tried..and I'm still banned !
