Some of his shotguns were sold by either Rock Island or Julia’s 3-5 years ago . To be honest I knew not who Daryl Middlebrook was then and to be honest not much now other than an occasional reference to the man here from time to time .

I am now assuming Daryl Middlebrook May very well have been the guy in New Jersey Tom Armbrust was telling me about and that all his English stuff went back across the pond .

Edgar, to each their own opinion, but I've found the drill press and hand crank both do about the same job as far as quality goes. Where the DP type has it over the crank ones is when you're going to do quite a few at once. Turning that crank gets old in a hurry. I'll take my DP models any day, thank you. I find it romantic to once in awhile to do everything by hand and use black powder. Now, if I could just find some paper 10s everything would be complete.

As you say, to each their own. My Bridgeport Gun Implement Co roll crimped differs from the more common bench clamped version, and the quality of the roll is quite simply, perfect. It takes four turns of the crank.
I load all my paper shells and set them in a 25 round block. Then place my overshot cards into them. From there, if it takes 3 minutes to roll the 25 rounds I’m loafing.
I’ve got boxes of NOS 10ga paper NPEs. Pays to go to the Annual Meeting silent auction.

Well I loaded two rounds with the 730 grain .775” slug I wrapped the slug with five layers of masking tape and a mylar .010” wrap set them on top of five 1/8 cards in the SP-8 shot cup and pushed it with Universal Clays . From the right barrel !

I also loaded some more of the .775” punkin balls with five wraps of masking tape sitting on top of six 1/8” cards in the SP-8 shot cup again pushed with Universal clays . Again from the right barrel .

I think I’m pretty well satisfied with the buck load . And I think the punkin ball load will do . I’m also of the opinion the slug load works well enough but I may try two more just for the heck of it .
