Seems better than Bismuth. Precision Reloading has Bismuth #4's for about $24.85 per pound. This according to Scotts figures (
 ) is $20 per pound. I wonder when they will be shipping it? Might be a decent find Pete.

I bought some , It is very brittle . I have not loaded or shot any yet . The guy I talk to ( can't remember his name ) said it loads like lead but had no data for 16ga which I planned on using it in .
I have my doubts about it , because of it being so brittle . I will most likely load some up next year and have it tested . I have plenty of nice and bismuth load for this year. |

I am thinking of stepping to the dark side and just shooting Kent TM in my Damascus guns. Anyone else do that? Actually, I have added a few fluid steel duck guns to my collection this year I plan to use.

I wonder if e shot is ok for Damascus?
I've done all I'm going to do to accommodate steel. I have a G and a D 12, a D 10 with cylinder and cylinder sleeves. Fast steel works great in all of them. Lead works in the guns with 30 and 32 inch barrels. The 28 inch one patterns too loose so I put in thin wall Briley chokes. I'm not touching any of my other guns and I can only hope I don't have to pay a fortune for some space age alloy to shoot them. Hunting, OK, but I resist having to do it for sporting clays. What all states should contemplate is exempting historic guns from having to use non toxic shot much like classic cars are exempted from smog devices. I'm the only guy in my duck club that shoots a side by side. Everyone else shoots a auto. Our percentage is pretty minimal. The environment could tolerate us. |
