Default Where to find serial #

I have an 1887 parker hammer shotgun, where do I find the seral # ?

Mr. Baker, after removing the forend and then the barrels you will find the gun's serial number on the "water table" or flat sections visible only after the barrels are removed.
It will also be found on the trigger guard tang (but could be worn to the degree of illegibility.) The serial number will also be found on the left side of the barrel lug.

All of these three should match.

If "Parker Bros." is not on the rib and sides of the receiver, it's not the real deal! We see a lot of knockoffs.
