Default 1883 Quality G

12ga , just over 7 lbs. 28" Pristine shiny bores with correct inside diameter.

Plenty of things for those interested to discuss.

Such as:

1. Case colors and how colors on parts differ
2. Hooded bolsters
3. Standing breech lack of shell rings or primer corrosion
4. Blood stains on stock
5. Sharptail grouse on left side plate
6. Woodcock or snipe on bottom
7. Number 18092 on right barrel flat. Gun SN 30891 on lug.
8. Carving detail atop grip
9. I have shown the stock SN location for new people
10. Damascus tubes match within and between tubes
11. Frame size #1 can but not necessarily correlates to total gun weight.
12. Niter bluing

Yo Bruce!! What do you mean by " Damascus tubes match within and between tubes" Is this something we gonna have to start looking for when we buy Damascus bbls??

Sure. Damascus tubes are composed of segments. Sometimes the segments in a single tube are poorly matched. In other barrel sets one tube will be significantly different than the other. The tubes are supposed to be paired so that the spirals reverse direction toward the rib. An occasional set will have both tubes with spiral windings going the same direction.

These situations are more frequently found in low grade guns like Gs. To many this is something to avoid but others find it interesting.

A few mismatched barrel sets have been found with what is believed to be original parker factory bluing. Reasons for this are only speculative.
