Default RST hulls

I may be getting a couple hundred once fired RST 10 gauge hulls . Since these hulls are Chedditte I believe am I going to need to use the Fiochi 616 (I think that’s correct) primers or will normal 209’s fit okay ?

I think you'll find the Cheditte hulls have a very slightly larger metric dimension primer/hole and American primers will be a tiny bit loose. I shoot almost exclusively Cheditte hulls or reload RSTs which are Cheditte. The Fioche 616 fits correctly and have performed just fine for me. According to much I have read and seen they are also one of the primers that generate lower pressures than many.

I’ve got a bunch of 16’s to get taken care of first . But sometime next week I wanna load 250 or so REM 10 gauge hulls . And I have ten of the once fired RST 10 gauge hulls . I’ve of course got plenty 209 primers and a few hundred 616 primers so we will see for sure .

I have been reloading fired and new Cheddite hulls for many years with Win 209 primers. I have never detected any loose primers.

I use 209 Winchester primers also and they are fine in Cheddite hulls.

I don't personally know, never put a 209 in one. I have heard it can be a problem. As I said, I use the Fioche in them, no issues.

I loaded the ten RST 10 gauge hulls I have using WIN209 and they seem okay . But that’s just visual I’ve not fired one to see the pattern etc . But I did use the same load I use in the Remington hulls 18.8 hrs Red Dot 1 1/8 shot .
