Default Meaning of 100-30-30 yards

In a Research letter, the owner had returned the shotgun to Parker Brothers service requesting them to make the RH barrel"shoot better" and the LH barrel shoot 100-30-30 yards.Aside from the desire to shoot better we all would like ,what does shoot 100-30-30 yards mean?

My guess would be 100 pellets in a 30” circle at 30 yards.

Makes sense. The owner sent it twice. This was the first and several years later sent the gun back to tighten up the right barrel pattern.

I'd say it was 100% patterning (not pellet count) in the standard 30" circle but at 30 yards. With period shells and bare lead shot that would equate to about 80-85% in the 30” circle at 40 yards.

Sounds like a pigeon shooter trying to get that couple of birds that always gets away.
"Make this gun shoot better" ;-)

Attempting to look up hx on the owner. This one is hard to find as he used initials for his given name in the 1890's .
