Thats my problem. I just sold a pre64 M70 220 Swift and the tire kickers were a PIA. I'd planned of giving Steve Barnett some guns on consignment but thats unfortunately not going to happen. I'd rather put them with a dealer who has the contacts and for the 10% or so they would charge is worth it to me not to have to deal with the tire kickers. That door has closed now

Well I have sold several of my high grade 12 and 10 gauge hammer guns, and have bought 20 ga hammer guns with the funds, so now I have concentrated on 16gauge and 20 ga hammer guns, course I still have some 12 and 10 ga high grades like the AA Hammer gun, and the AAHE that are consecutively numbered, as far as I know the only ones, Aways on the lookout for the unusual like the 38" 16 gauge I bought last year, Gary

I know those guns Gary and how fortunate you were to aquire them. I don’t know that I’d ever part with those consecutively numbered AA’s and that 38” 16... so glad you got that one back... and your 20-bore hammer guns, there are still a few out there for you... keep digging!

Rich, even though Steve’s no longer with us, I understand his business is still quite viable, though without his personal touch.

Shane at CT Shotgun was good to deal with, as was Bill at Robin Hollow. Have not used Barnett, I will probably not deal with Puglisi. They have yet to answer one email inquiry I've sent or returned a call. When I got through I got a bit of an attitude when asking about a PH. Like it was a stupid question as to what the drops were (not listed) and what the serial number was (not listed) and whether he could send additional photos (long sigh...). I just told him forget it.

Not a collector. I buy what I have a need for and at present that is nothing but I will not be selling anything either. There is one exception. I am waiting for a local guy to show up with a Bernard 20 ga. That I will buy need or not.

I know that Steve's business is still viable but honestly I don't have much faith in his stepson. Right or wrong thats my gut feeling. Steve once told me that he didn't wish for him to take over the business as there was to much to learn. I'll have to give that one some time and see how it shakes out. Other than Chuck Brunner and possibly Steve Cobb there's not another dealer I feel comfortable dealing with.

I talked with Austin (I think that's correct) at Barnett's Fine Guns about a gun not long ago. I didn't buy the gun but Austin was very helpful, responsive and seemed quite knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to deal with him in the future.
