Default Rolled

Was halfway productive today ! In between phone calls etc I was able to load some 8 gauge . Loaded six with the .785” punkin ball , six with the .795”punkin ball and eight with ten of the 000000 buck (.415” balls) . My roll crimps looked pretty darn good today .

This was at thirty yards . Two out of the left barrel . They’re lower left right off the paper .

I wanna try two punkin balls in the left barrel of my newest to me 8 and a load of buck in the right barrel on paper . That target was fired from the restored 8 hammer or rather the first I acquired .

Maybe a dumb question, knowing nothing about the 8 gauge, but do you use the 9 gauge balls in order to clear the chokes or to fit in the pastic shells?

To be honest I know not what size 9 gauge would be . I first ordered a round ball mold of size .775” and tried it in the restored hammer 8 . And over times used masking tape to kinda patch the ball and tighten it up a bit . Then this year I ordered molds of .785” and .795” after getting the PH 8 as it was slightly more open at the muzzle . I’ve since shot all three sizes in the restored gun . In this endeavor getting a decent grouping has been far easier than getting a really good POI in relation to POA .
