Eric, Don't be too sure it's not a V

This one is a VH and was engraved as part of a 5 or 6 gun project by a Parker Bros. chief engraver as gifts to his students or co-workers.
We only wish we knew what the rest of this gun looks like.

Check with Chuck, yours may be one of the group.

In my opinion it had been “upgraded”.

The engraving itself does not appear completely up to snuff in quality. And i see in a few areas where i may detect remnants of the V grade walked border.

Also, the patent mark is roll stamped. And typically on higher grade guns, the date was hand engraved, not rolled. So, the roll die marked VH latch was engraved around the original roll stamp.

Interesting the engraving is well cut to my eye and for the life of me I don't know where I picked it up. Just going through stuff and came across this piece. You never know what you will come up with going through your old stuff !

Will you be asking Chuck about it Eric?

It would be interesting to know if that came from one of that group of special gift VH guns that I referenced.
