The "dent" looks more like a slice. Not that it is a major part of the eventual selling price, but we are in for several hundred dollars in repair costs, which should be taken care of before offering it for sale. This is a really nice Trojan, but what's with the "64,XXX" in your original post?

Bill is right on both counts. The latter is probably a typo. Hard to tell from the pics but, the former looks like a weld repair is necessary. Anyway you have yourself a really nice Parker.

Thanks guys! The serial number snafu stems from a research swap, from the same seller I have coming my way a Sterlingworth, that appears to be in similar condition as this Trojan, and THAT gun is 64,xxx, the kicker is that the Sterly is a “Trap” model with 32” barrels.

Now I just have to figure out who to send the barrels to!

Yea, that one is definitely worn out! You need to post it for sale quickly on the forum before you start spending money on it......

Have looked at that spot with a jewelers loop, and with a “pocket microscope” with almost double the power, and i THINK that this is the repair, and the barrels were never refinished. Going to send the gun up to Parker Batchelder, and get them to advise. Either way, repair and reblue, or just reblue. The trick will be letting go of the gun once I get it back!!

You’re asking us how much the gun is worth after you bought it? Its value to you is how much you paid for it. That’s all that matters.

Ed,

I wish that all of my shotgun purchases were completely altruistic. But, occaissionally I buy a gun that I have no particular interest in, because it was a bargain, and passing it on allows me to contine to chase the items that interest me more. I would never reveal what I paid for this really nice Trojan, but will tell you this, when I have encountered nice guns from individual sellers, that do not realize what they are selling, I always offer a morally defendable price....my exception is Pawn Shops....as I beieve that, in general, tha Pawn shops operate on the edge of legality.......in general.

Thanks though, fr your comment....and I assure you I value the gun at LEAST what I paid for it.
