It has been a few years but the Denali Highway towards Paxson was a place that had good numbers but maybe Richard would know better now. Thomas

The Denali Hwy has become a tough hunt by all reports. You have to get pretty far off the road these days, I'm told. Too much hunting pressure plus some guy who lives down there year round was shooting 200+ per year for food, which didn't do much good for the population. If you take a snowmachine down you can likely find them but I'm told it's much harder these days. There's no more snowshoeing off the road and getting into them.

Call him a support animal and buy him a ticket if he is well behaved. Crating a dog for that long a trip is tough on em.

You will have a great time. It is Alaska and weather plays a big part, just like it does for any hunt. Get a good gear list from Butch and pay attention to what he tells you! They know the exact brands of gear that work in that country. Ask any and every question. He has been at it a longtime. I have been up on two hunts with Gary La Rose and still smile at the lifetime memories those hunts provided. Yes it's expensive, but I can tell you that I came away, and yet today can say those hunts owed me nothing. Worth every dime!

Am 72 going on 16. Had a bypass 20 years ago, gave up cigars and bourbon has not been as good since, but it is still good. Retired spend too much on Parkers, hunting and fun.
