I have my grandfathers 10 gauge hammer gun according to the serial numbers it was made in 1863 . In my research I found that parker only made a gun until it was ordered? Is there any record of who ordered the guns ? I would like to find out where my grandfather got the gun if possible. He lived in the early 1900 s

Parker Bros. wasn't making shotguns in 1863.

Does it say Parker Bros. anywhere on the gun?

It would help to know the serial number and grade of the gun to know if there is info on your gun.

Ira - Go to the Parker Home page, on the left side, look for FAQ's. Near the bottom of the FAQ's is a tutorial on posting pix.

Good luck!

29490 is a Plain Twist, Top Action, probably a grade 0 or 1, capped pistol grip with 30-inch 10 gauge barrels.
And there are surviving records on your gun to support a research letter. But, being such a low grade it is likely your gun was originally sent to a hardware store and it is very unlikely there will be any reference to a person. But you can spend the $100 for a nicely done research letter on your gun.
