Default South Dakota hunters needed

This has been a rough year for the members of our group that hunt SD on opening weekend. 3 have had to drop out because of family emergencies in the last few days. I know this is a long shot but if anyone or two would like to fill in at the last minute PM me and we can talk. It really is a great trip and SxS's are very welcome.
Season opens 10/20 Sat. and we hunt for 5 days but if someone wanted to do 3-4 days that would work.

I'd force myself to go with you Daryl but I'm already going with a group. We struggle with this situation every year. It seems like there are always circumstances forcing someone to drop out. You would think it would be easy to find someone to go but it is not. Good luck.

I saw a tongue in cheek notice that the S.D. governor was declaring pheasants as vermin this year, and there would be a bounty on them. Lotso birds, apparently

This is the first time in 15+ years that we had this problem. We have a solid core of 6 guys, unfortunately a gravely sick wife has knocked out a father and son and my partner had surgery which has'nt healed properly. We hunt small covers, no big cornfield drives requiring 15 guys. As they say the show must go on.

Daryl, what are the details on this trip? Do you fly out? Drive? Where do you stay? Costs?

We hunt a farm just outside of Hitchcock, SD. Everything is provided except your license, gun and ammo. It's a small family operation and we start on 10/20 and hunt for 4-5 days. If someone wanted to do 3 days that would be fine. Cost is about $400/day give or take.
These are all wild birds and we will have to hunt for them. Thank God for good dogs.

Thanks for asking, feel free to contact me if you have any more ?'s.

Thanks for all the info Daryl. I would love to go but the date comes a bit too soon for me this year. Ive hunted south dakota and it is terrific out there. Perhaps next season if you are still short. I have a 2 1/2 yr old english setter. I would drive out like you. Thank you again and good hunting.

That would be a great trip. I guarrentee, that when you are not hunting, you will be laughing. Daryl is a seriously good shot, and his labs great hunters. If I were not already going to the Up on those days, I would be there.
