Default Grouse Camp 2011

Dean,Danny,Jamie and myself ventured up to camp this weekend. The weather was cloudy and overcast with a few light showers Saturday. We hunted hard all day Saturday and Sunday morning and we moved only 8 grouse and 2 woodcock which I managed to scratch down one of on Saturday. The one grouse I saw was screaming through the woods and I managed to miss just behind him.Followed him up and he flushed far out through some pines. I gave him a two barreled salute.. Here are a few pictures for you guys. Because we love pictures.
1) Parker Trojan and New England Woodcock

2) Same bird and same gun.

3) Danny and Jamie(Deans Brother-in-Law) and a great guy.Danny is hunting his 16 gauge O frame 28" gun and Jamie is hunting my Trojans twin in 16 gauge.

4) And I can't leave this one out....the view from the outhouse,

Also I posted a few more on an album.

A pair of Trojans still do good work in the coverts of New England. Top gun is Deans 16 gauge and lower gun is my 20 gauge.

That really is the view from the Privy, no joke!
We rarely close the door... heck, why would you with a view like that?

In deer season we prop our rifle in the corner within easy reach. That philosophy worked once, back in '82 so we carry on that hallowed tradition to this day.

Thanks Dave. You guys have a great looking camp. Is the ground yours or is it public ground? Regardless, I'm jealous. Hope you don't mind if I add a link to your album http://parkerguns.org/forums/album.php?albumid=281

Cheers
Marcus

BTW- I ended up winning the 11-48 28gauge stock on GB.com.

I noticed in your post "his 16 ga" guess you are slowly losing some of your guns....

Very true Eric...The SC seems to be "His" also....

Marc, It's private land and a very closely guarded secret. Congrats on the 11-48 stock. That should work out well.

It is the "light at the end of my tunnel". Fun or no fun, it is what I live for.... among other family things of course.

Thanks Dave. Keep the grouse and woodcock pics coming. Looks like they're as close as I'm going to get this season.

Cheers
