Default 1 1/2" and 2" frame differences

What are the dimensional differences between 1 1/2" and 2" frames (12ga) and the barrels that would go with them?

Try looking in the FAQ's from the Home page.

Thank you. I should have stated my question better. My curiosity is more so around the length of the frame than the width, the length of the lug.

The length of the frames, both hammer gun and hammerless after 1882 are all the same.

It is also important to note that barrels of the different frame sizes are NOT in ANY way interchangeable.

Brian, I will differ with you on this point. I have a 1/2 frame gun with a set of #1 frame barrels that work very well. Thanks for your expertise.

Correct, forgot about that, the 1/2 frame barrels were able to be put on 1 frame guns. I too have once seen a 1/2 frame 12g that was born as a 1 frame 16.

Could a 2 barrel work on a 1 1/2 frame for a 12ga?

No.

Unless you wanted to dissemble and restrike the barrels, then reassemble.

If you have 1 1/2 frame barrels now, what is wrong with them?

Very pitted bores, but mostly I was just wondering, since 1 1/2" barrels seem hard to find, and the posts above give the idea that in certain situations different combinations will work.
