I agree...the most likely scenario was that the gun gets bought for $25, and has the barrels and stock hacked off and used to rob a liquor store the next day!

Mark,

You are correct about the 16ga Ithaca's being light and nimble. The Lewis is my favorite. I think you will really like how it carries and shoots.

John, we were covered up with Snipe this season. I had the time of my life! As much as I like hunting and shooting these guys, Robin and I like eating them just as much, i shot 14 limits (truthfully, two times I scratched out 7 instead of 8), with 11 different vintage shotguns....had a great time this season.

Here is a similar 26" 16ga that weighs 5 lbs 15 oz and throws IC and Mod patterns. A little more worn, and a few hundred dollars more, but I got the case and turnscrews and leaf spring tool with it. Just dont have many snipe to use it on in Colorado.

Nice Ithaca!

Ithaca's are a lot more common out here than Parkers so I have been able to acquire a few of them. 16 gauge happens to be my favorite upland gauge. I predict you going to like yours.

You never know what you'll find at a yard sale. A couple of years ago I stopped at one and the gentleman there said he had a gun I didn't have and I needed to buy it. Turned out to be a Model 95 Winchester in 405 Winchester. And yes I bought it.
