Pretty little things, aren't they? A 3 1/2" ten or one of your 8's make this look like a toy gun shell. $4 worth of shot in each of these #9 loads.

those really look good especially theroll crimping...i still have trouble sometimes getting the crimp even....it s hard to believe you can now stuff 4 bucks in a shell...my dad bought me some costly 10 ga for turkey one year i will have to admit they will shoot a closer pattern than normal shells...worth the extra money when we only shoot a few of them each year...charlie

Man that does sound like an interesting experiment. Intrigued at what you find.
I don't know anything about tungsten in loads, but I find it hard to believe #9 shot of anything approaching 50 yards isn't loosing its oomph. You may give old Tom a hell of a rash, but breaking a vertebrae, I don't know. Maybe need to make up some ballistic gel and see how it penetrates. Last edited by Todd Poer; 03-09-2018 at 09:27 AM.. |

In a 1.5 ounce load of Tungsten Super Shot #9 there are 536 pellets. In the 1.5 ounce load of #5 lead there are 260 pellets. I think it will be more than a rash and it has proven itself. http://www.trapshooters.com/threads/...sities.267784/ |

I did not see link before, and if its true that is just amazing. Like I said I don't know much about tungsten. BTw what chokes do they recommend for shooting tungsten.

Same chokes but as with any gun you need to pattern. But at the cost of this shot, a shot trap will pay for itself quickly. Examples are on the TSS website.
