Default Comb Raiser

Question: I've recently purchased rubber Comb Raisers for several of my vintage guns. Does anyone have experience attaching them without ruining the stock finish???

When I have to use one of those I attach it to the comb with a few wraps of electrical tape. I prefer the Beretta silicone sticky raisers: they don’t harm the finish. They come as high as 1/4”.

My Fox A grade 20ga needed a little help, but I too was worried about the finish, plus I didn't like the permanent or at least semi-permanent idea of the rubber risers. Ultimately I settled on this. I haven't had a lot of experience with it, but so far it seems to do the job, and I certainly like the fact that I can take it off easily...

Elmers makes a stick and release rubber-like cement for attaching photgraphs. i have used to to attached comb rasiers as it did not remove the finish, at least on truoil.

The Beretta silicone risers are very good, are easy to remove and will not harm the finish.

Well Dean, I sure do like the Beretta Gel Pads but they are not easy to take off. My fingers and thumbs tell me that. They are amazing and they don't leave any residue on the wood. Just make sure your finish is sound.

Here is a comb riser I used on my 3" or more hammer guns. The great thing about them is it adds very little to the side of the stock so your face isn't far away from the side of the stock. It's held in place by double sided sticky tape and you can also attach a strap through the cutouts on the riser. I had a real problem taking mine off, that tape is really on there firm. I used 50lb fising ling and kinda like sawed through the tape. Worked like a charm and didn't harm the finish. Good if you have a large drop on the comb of the stock.

Default Comb raiser

RST makes a dandy for 20 bucks that only Velcro's to itself and has made my 3" drop 16 DHE a killer. Moves sometimes but easily put back with shove of the hand on comb.
