Cool This one has me stumped...?

Bought this gun from a collector out West. Saw a lot of pictures...and the price was right..In readying to do a good cleaning, I noticed this...Gun is 223469..In book as 28" 16 ga. Trojan.Receiver and FE numbered. Varnish looks original..Has a DHBP instead of a plain Trojan BP..but it looks like it's been there forever. NOW...Barrels have no serial number on the flats..Has 16 and 1 on the lug. Has correct stamping on top rib. Bores are like new. Both flats are stamped..Parker Bros. Overload Proof..has GV stamp on right flat..3/5 barrel weight..and HT over an A.?? Then on the bottom rib, just ahead of where the forend wood ends..16ga BV or BY ? (Hard to tell)..Lynden Wa. Screws are like new..barrel blue is 95+. Traces of color..I know the seller, and I'll bet he never saw the stamp on the rib...Any guesses ??...Chokes are tight full and IM..

You're saying there is no serial number stamped into the left side of the lug??

Dean..I was wrong..The number is at the very top of the lug ..and was hard to see in the dark colors. It matches..

Tried to get a picture of the marking on the bottom rib. Too small to show up..and it's a tiny roll stamp..Not an engraving..I've searched 16 GA BY LYNDEN WA..I found nothing that gives any clues ? LOP is 14 1/8 to the DHBP...and it matches the patina of the rest of the gun..

Jerry, it's probably a Canadian import, imported by a Washington company. Morphy's (formerly Julias) has been using this company to bring guns in from the Great White North. Borderview I think is the company name, explaining the "BV" mark. The markings are the neatest and least intrusive import marks I have ever seen. The marking is mandatory for imported guns. Google Borderview Imports for information on company procedures.

Thumbs up

Bill..Makes sense. The gun came from Oregon. I tried again for a photo with a better camera, but it's still too small. Measures about 3/8" long with letters about 1/16"...Thanks..j..

Bill...Found some info....Borderview Logistics is a gunshop in Lynden, Wa..since 1957. They import from Canada..and have an office there too. Cost is $299 for first gun..and $199 for next 4 in same shipment..PLUS 5% of total value to 5K..then drops to 2 %. BVLYNDENWA is approved by the ATF here to be the import mark..They state letters are, indeed, 1/16"..and maximum stamping depth of 0.003.....Thanks again..j..

I wonder if there is a company on the East coast that will send guns to Maritime Canada?

Talked to Borderview people yesterday...The looked up the SN on this gun, and told me it was imported in Oct/2016 by a "well known collector"..whose name she would not give me. It was sent straight to Morphys Auction..where it was sold..I don't know if my seller was the buyer at the auction..
