Default Letter

The letter arrived. Was hoping for more of a local connection on the original purchase. The stock has been shortened. It's now 13 5/8 inches over the pad not the original 15 inches. All else lines up with the letter.

Oral history has it that the gun went to the Nationals on numerous trips with Joe Altschwager former owner, a Mr. Doering and John Kurth all from Columbus Wi.

The Doering you refer to was probably Guy V. Dering of Columbus WI. He was the president of the Amateur Trapshooting Assn. at the turn of the 20th Century.

What a great provenance, he held a position, or one equal, to John Phillip Sousa.
