Default Ejector gun - broken right extractor

Anybody know what is involved with replacing a broken right extractor on a 1 1/2 frame 12ga ejector gun? Big job, small job? Better yet anybody have one they would sell that might fit?

Dave it broke about an inch back from where the ejector hammer strikes it.

My GHE 16ga had the same thing happen. Its a two bbl set so I figured just switch them out...wrong there all hand fitted. Not a big job the smith cut the broken piece out made a new one welded and heat treated it.

I gave him the gun just befor Hausmanns so I'd have it for the U.P. shoot in two weeks and its completed and ready as of today.

I bought a PHE 1 1/2 frame with steel barrels for too good a price, seller did say the ejectors were not working. What he did not say was that the sears were missing. I did not think to open the forend up to look for the sears during the three day inspection. Cost $300 for the parts used. Lucky to find them. Lou wanted $460 for the ones he makes.

So ejectors can be real expensive to fix.

Take it to a good tool and die maker and I bet he could weld it back togeher. Those guys are wonderful and often will do it just for the challange.

My GHE skeet is back and ready for action. I picked up my gun from Lawrence DelGrego yesterday, very fair price and a quick turnaround. Glad to have it back home.

Saw another 12 ga GHE Skeet in the shop while I was there, about 450 numbers earlier than my gun. 26" skeet in and skeet out, BTFE, SST It was a pistol grip with Hawkins pad, beautiful gun.
