Default New Repro Owner & Question

Hi all, well I took the plunge and got an unfired 2 bbl set. It's a "O" frame 20ga with CSMC 16ga bbls, SST, english grip and splinter forend. It weighs 6lbs 8oz with the 20ga bbls and 6lbs 5oz with the 16ga bbls. Nice wood and it comes with the case.

I paid $6100.oo for her which after looking seems to be a fair deal. What do you think?

The seller says that the 16ga bbls are fitted well and was done by CSMC. My question is have any of you had any problems with CSMC bbls that were fitted by them? How is the overall quality?

Thanks so much!!

Greg

Greg, The quality of the barrels has never been an issue. The only real complaints I have heard have been in their being fitted to existing Repros.

The quality of the CSMC barrels is great. I think we boiled it down here that they are actually made by Merkel.

The issue seems to be in the fitting them to some guns. I fit mine myself and am really happy with them.

Let us know how yours fit when you get the gun.

Very nice barrels, the CSMC fit job that I paid for was just pathetic.

I have one set I perchased from CSM....they also fitted them. Funktionaly the barrels are perfect but the dolls head extentiontion has a small open area and does not fill its place in the receiver fully. Only a minor issue but on a gun of this quality any imperfection stands out. These barrels have the tightest full choke availible at .034 they shoot hard and kill wild roosters stone dead regularly at 40-45 yards...(-: The factory supplied barrels from a original repro-16 that I own are marked mod/full, their choked at .017/.024 I have a IC/Mod 16 set choked at .010/.017 I feel they are all factory original ckokes. All that said Im very happy to have them tight choked galazan barrels...even if they are not perfectly fitted.....(-: thanks all SXS ohio....

Hi all, got the Repro today. A very nice and well made gun to say the least. I did luck out on one point. The 16ga bbls were fitted very well. I compared them to the 20ga bbls and could see no difference in the fitting. Lucky me!!!

Now to go out and shoot her!!!

Thanks for all your input!!

All the best!

Congrat's Greg,

I wish you many great day's with your new toy. I'm betting you'll really like the 16ga barrels on those ND roosters.

All the best,
Paul
