Default DOVES FINALLY, MOSBY EXCITED TO GO

What I thought would be a great season has been a bummer so far. Opening day was so hot I had to put Mosby back in the truck and take him home. Today was the first day I got a limit of doves for him, and the first time he has been when it was pretty cool at daybreak. Gun is a Fox AE 12 and my first limit with it. I did not shoot it very well, used the wrong set of barrels (cyl & mod), or the doves were tougher.

But Mosby was happy.

I have been once and it was a tough hunt too but still good. I took the wrong set of barrels too.

Our dove pretty much disappeared after a couple of fronts moved through during the first week of the season. I'm envious of you guys in the South that have extended shooting.

Nice looking dog!

I was talking with some friends last night about how hot September was around here and if that put a damper on the dove population which has been down from years past. Who knows.

This year, instead of doves migrating south they are packing up and heading north.

It is finally pleasant down here. I was hoping for one more hunt before the early dove season went out but it is not to be
