Be sure to call PGCA Member Bob Hayes while you're there and spend some time hunting with him. Good fun!

You guys must plan to eat that group of large mouth....How are they to eat? Most folk say they are not that good as the flesh is not firm? Is that true? We have good large mouth bass fishing her in ohio but everyone says throw em back they don't eat good? What is your take? thanks SXS Ohio

Largemouth bass flesh is white and firm and is one of my favorites. Big ones are best baked. A nice sweet meat. I scale them, leaving the skin on.

Oh, and I don't dress them with anything... maybe just a few drops of lemon juice after they're on your plate. I guarantee you will regret never trying it before.

We kept them in the live well for a nice photo op and then back to the Lake. I have not eaten a bass since I was in my teens and right out of the water I'm sure would be OK. Sort of like a young Pike on the grill with lemon and butter.
