Default Parker #1219 out for some clays

While not on Friday I did make the decision to go shooting yesterday, which hopefully counts. A 100 rounds of sporting clays with this nice old lifter. Non-rebounding hammers which I actually remembered to bring back to half-cock every time this morning before opening the gun...

Jay
It's not safe to shoot them old hammer guns. 👮🏻
But since it looks like you were at Addieville I guess it's ok.

Charlie, this has non-rebounding locks so after you pull the trigger(s) the hammers fall and keep pressure on the firing pins. With the firing pins extended you can't open the gun. I am not sure how many early Parkers were made with these locks though I seem to have read in the Parker Story about Parker advertising their "new" Rebounding locks at some point. I usually forget to pull the hammers back to half cock at some point during my shooting and then try to open the gun wondering what is wrong.

George, I was at Peace Dale Shooting Preserve, which is just 10 minutes from my house. I do look forward to seeing you again at Addieville in April for the New England Fun Shoot!
